The River Annan, located in a southern region of Scotland known as Annandale, finds its beginning high up in the hills in an area called the “Devil’s Beef Tub” known historically as a place where cattle thieves hid stolen herds. From five springs, water emerges from peat bogs with a dark tannic coloring looking like weak coffee or tea.  As the waters merge and pass through the valley, they become crystal clear and sweet before they pass through the market town of Moffat and head toward the sea.  Moffat is a destination point in northern Annandale with many scenic walking trails. Enjoy this sweet and mild coffee while you plan a visit!
