What is Solway?

The Solway Firth (/fûrth/ - a long, narrow inlet of the sea) marks the southwestern border between Scotland and England. Located at the mouth of the River Annan - Annan's namesake - the haaf-net in the center of our logo represents untold generations of fishermen who fished in this region during the changing tides, carrying on a rich tradition on the Solway Firth. By adopting the haaf-net symbol and theme for our roastery, we seek to honor their legacy and help serve the region of Annandale by providing a place of community, belonging, and peace.

How We Got Started

Solway Coffee Roasters was established to bring a great coffee experience to Annan, Scotland. During the development phase in the States, it took on a life of it's own and became a functioning-runaway business! We had to get it legal in the States even though that wasn't part of our plan. All of our labels are themed to celebrate the vibrant life of SW Scotland and the Solway coast. We will, in time, be opening a second roastery in Annan. Until then, we'll be packing suitcases of coffee with us for our loyal friends. Enjoy an amazing cup of coffee and dream of an amazing place with amazing people. We hope you're blessed by each bag purchased and each cup brewed.
